WASHINGTON – May 17, 2022 – Patrick Butler, president and chief executive officer of America’s Public Television Stations (APTS), made the following statement today on the passing of David Liroff.
“America’s Public Television Stations join all of our colleagues in public broadcasting in mourning the passing of David Liroff, former Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of GBH, and former Senior Vice President, System Development and Media Strategy of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).
“David served on the board of APTS, including as board vice chair for three years. He was technologically savvy and forward thinking, and his passion and commitment for our system were instrumental in guiding our public service mission.
“We salute his long years of leadership, his mentorship of so many who followed him into public broadcasting, and his legacy of service that will live forever.
“We mourn his loss, and our thoughts and prayers go out to David’s family and former colleagues.”
